Discover a Great New Fishery! If you haven't visited the Huron River before, you are in for a treat. Just minutes away from the major urban center of Ann Arbor, the river flows clear and clean through pristine woodlands and Metropark lands. Water quality is very good, and the smallmouth bass population is healthy and thriving. Fish with the Originals Huron River Fly fishing Adventures was the first full-service guide operation to specialize in fishing the Huron River, and we remain the premier guide service on the 12-mile stretch between Flook Dam and Barton Pond. Founder and owner Dirk Fischbach authored the book The Fly Fisher's Huron, along with several articles about the river. He contributes to several websites, including fishing updates for the popular Huron River Net. He was an original member of the guiding team at Montana's Lone Mountain Ranch and maintains active membership in Trout Unlimited and The Federation of Fly Fishers. He has taught fly tying and fly fishing for more than a decade in his hometown of Saline, Mich., and was featured in a spotlight on the Huron that appeared in American Angler magazine.
Dirk Fiscbach and friend! NEW!
Photos from the First Annual Huron River Fly Tiers Symposium! Special Note: I am currently looking for new sites from which to launch and take out my river boat (14 foot NRS Rivercat) for commercial trips (currently only offered on weekends, but that may change next summer). I would like to hear from any river-front owners in the Hudson Mills, Zeeb Road and Delhi areas that might be interested. I am fully licensed and insured, and will happily pay a use fee. If this interests you, please e/mail me! - Dirk
